BiologyEdit

Carnotaurus is a medium-sized, bipedal carnivore, well-known for its tenacity and fantastic camoflague in amongst greenery. It is a solitary hunter, though has been seen hunting in pairs to take down larger prey. Two different versions of Carnotaurus have been seen on FMM UV-32 - a larger, striped Carnotaurus known as Morph A, and a second, bull dog-like creature known as Morph B. Both versions of Carnotaurus are very similar to their Earth counterpart, differing very little in terms of anatomy and possibly behaviour.

Morph A Edit

The larger varient, Morph A, sports a bright, tiger-striped skin pattern, helping to camoflauge itself against thick foliage. A row of small spines run along the animal's back and tail, its tail being long and muscular to help balance the dinosaur as it walks around. While its tail does balance the Carnotaurus as it moves, it hinders the dinosaur's ability to make sharp or tight turns. Due to this, skilful hunters can easily evade attacks from this creature. The Carnotaurus is also a very clumsy animal, plodding with discoordinated steps across its environment. With its clumsiness, the Carnotaurus sports a deep, resonating roar it uses to trick smaller animals, like Allosaurus and Oviraptor, into abandoning their kills so it may scavenge, being a poor hunter.

Another, smaller varient of this creature also stalks its territories. Being anatomically identical to its common, tiger-striped varient, this varient sports a more simple coloration of dull browns and green, with black marking covering some areas of the body and face, providing un-rivaled camouflage to other dinosaurs of the Central Sector. This varient, although still clumsy, is a more active predator of smaller dinosaurs.

Morph B Edit

The second variant, Morph B, sports dull green colouration across its body. Armoured scales cover is skin, most prominently seen on its shoulders and snout. The most defining aspect of this Carnotaurus is its bull-dog appearance; a short, stubby snout with cruel eyes watch out for prey, their upper jaws are tall in comparison to other species of carnivorous dinosaurs, and a heavy set of powerful muscles giving the creature a stocky appearance. The Carnotaurus has a ferocious temper, being extremely aggressive to both smaller dinosaurs, like Allosaurus, and humans. Relatively slow, this Carnotaurus is an ambush hunter, sneaking up on prey before surprising them with a mouth of teeth.

On both types of Carnotaurus, they each sport a pair of short, stocky but powerful arms that jut out awkwardly from the animal's chest to provide balance, large splayed feet for walking and a pair of horns jutting out from the creature's head above the eyes, the most distinctive characteristic of the Carnotaurus on both Earth and FMM UV-32.

Carnotaurus are strictly hunted in the Central Sector, but both versions live in different habitats to avoid conflict - Morph A and its variants live in the woodlands and forests of the C2 islands, while Morph A residues in the jungles of the C1 string of islands. Carnotaurus are also one of the few medium-teired carnivorous dinosaurs available to hunt.

Target Zone Edit

In Carnivores Reloaded, the Carnotaurus (Morph B) had a target zone located on both the chest and the eye. While hunters equipped with a Sniper Rifle could pick the dinosaurs off from a distance, the preferred method of killing a Carnotaurus used by hunters is to provoke the animal, causing it to charge while shooting its chest with a close-range weapon. In Carnivores: Dinosaur Hunter, Carnotaurus (Morph A) has no target zone.

Official Appearances Edit

Carnotaurus appeared as a huntable dinosaur in Carnivores: Dinosaur Hunter. It was added during the April 4th updated alongside Gigantoraptor.

Other AppearancesEdit

Carnotaurus appears as a huntable animal in Carnivores Reloaded, replacing the spot of the Ceratosaurus, as well as in the non-Carnivores universe, such as Jurassic Park Hunter and Jurassic Park Hunter Legends in the DLC Pack titled "Classic Pack". Carnotaurus was also meant to appear in Primal Fear before it was cancelled.

Trivia Edit

  • Carnotaurus was the fifth custom-made dinosaur to be added to Carnivores: Dinosaur Hunter.
  • In Carnivores: Dinosaur Hunter, the Carnotaurus was originally the size of the classic Ceratosaurus. However, it was eventually resized from Ceratosaurus size to Allosaurus size, making it a medium-sized huntable animal.
  • In Carnivores: Dinosaur Hunter, the Carnotaurus call does not scare away ambient animals. This was later fixed during an update to the game.
  • During a recent update to Carnivores: Dinosaur Hunter, the Carnotaurus was reskined with a more natural- looking skin to better fit the aesthetic style of the original dinosaurs. The sound-work of the dinosaur's footsteps were also improved during the update.
