BiologyEdit

Dilophosaurus is a relatively new dinosaur discovered in the Central Sector. These dinosaurs are known for their fast speed and cunning. They can also be easily frightened if they spot something at a distance, fleeing to the nearest body of water for safety. Despite this, they are extremely dangerous and should be treated as such. Recently another species of smaller dilophosaur has been discovered. It has the ability release a concentrated venom when it feels threatened and also has a umbrella-like frill which many believe triggers the venom spit reaction. It is mostly found in lowland tropical areas like Manya Jungle and the Lost Lands. So far it is the only huntable on the planet to have projectile attacks.

Official AppearancesEdit

Dilophosaurus was released as a bonus animal for Carnivores 2 without a particular mod in mind. However, soon after its release it became one of the official huntable animals in Carnivores Reloaded, replacing the Spinosaurus. The Carnivores Reloaded version has different sounds than the standard Dilophosaurus, as well as a Target Zone.

Liliensternus is a relative of Dilophosaurus native to the Triassic Sector. It is known for its unique color pattern. Liliensternus is more aggressive than Dilophosaurus, though clumsier in movement and incapable of jumping. Due to its clumsy movements, it usually takes the role of a scavenger and steals meals from smaller carnivores or by eating smaller animals. But since the arrival of humans in its habitat, it has found another food source by eating hunters. Due to being less hardy than other Triassic Sector animals, Liliensternus prefers desert oases to sandy plains.

In Carnivores Triassic, Liliensternus is one of the official huntable animals. It uses the same model and sounds as Dilophosaurus with modified skin and animations. Its AI was based on that of the Woolly Mammoth, but modified to increase aggression. The calls of the Liliensternus in Carnivores Triassic are the sounds of the Dilophosaurus from a documentary film called 'When Dinosaurs Roamed America'.
